A timeless accessory, the scarf is a must-have that can be worn around the neck, as a belt, headband or turban.
CARDS SERIES Cups, swords, sticks and money. What do these words evoke in you? For us, the magic of long winter afternoons with grandparents. A deck of cards and endless challenges of broom or trump next to the hearth. Playing cards, the most popular entertainment in Italy, linked to folklore and tradition. From Bergamo, Bologna, Treviso or Neapolitan, the list is long: each area of the Bel Paese has its own. 40 rectangles, each with its own suit which can represent defeat or victory. We drew inspiration from here for our “Carte” scarf series. Each scarf is sold accompanied by a postcard describing the line and graphics and inside a white box.
JESTER AT COURT «A florin!» It is the offering that Massimo Troisi and Roberto Benigni see asked for several times by a customs officer in one of the most hilarious scenes in Italian cinema. A pug was the tax requested by the Spanish government for each pack of Neapolitan cards sold during their domination. By the end of the sixteenth century, card games had become so widespread and popular under Vesuvius that the Bourbons found a good reason to raise money. The card designers had become a real caste, so much so that the profession was passed down from father to son. Our Court Jester silk twill scarf draws inspiration from the Ace of Wands, symbol of strength and action, of Neapolitan cards.
